Subject: Re: question Hypoallergenic Balm and Psorexederm application for infants.
The Hypo-allergenic face and body balm is totally non toxic and ideally suited to the
purpose.
Sometimes for severe eczema which is itchy we recommend our Psorexederm Cream
which is very good at reducing itching and can be alternated with the
Hypo-allergenic face and body balm (which has little immediate anti-itch effect apart from
that which comes as the skin heals.)
The Psorexederm Cream relatively safe if "eaten" as in the sense that they stick
their fingers in the jars and get it in their mouths it doesn't cause
problems, but it would be toxic if eaten in large amounts as with most
products.
To safely use and benefit from it you apply it onto the affected area and
it will melt with body heat. Then get a soft cloth such as an old nappy or
towel and blot off the excess until there is just a shine of ointment on the
skin. This is perfectly safe.
Often people use the Psorexederm Cream at night for itch and the hypoallergenic
balm during the day.
Psorexederm Cream is great for itchy, scratchy rashes that children scratch until
they cause bleeding.
For adults we often suggest leaving a thicker layer on the skin at night but
for infants application with blotting to remove the excess is a safe and
effective method, even if they do scratch the area and put their hands in
their mouth.
Thank you for the question which we will deidentify and put on the site for
the help of others.

Subject: Re: Baby Eczema
I have been giving some thought to you plight.
We have 2 products which compliment each other.
The Hypoallergenic face and body balm
is applied 3-4 times a day to all dry and crusty areas.
It relieves the dryness and reduces the crusting but does not have ingredients to relieve itching.
The second product is our
Psorexederm cream, a zinc based cream
with anti-inflammatory coal tar to relieve itch
almost immediately. It is applied to itchy areas to relieve itch. It is white in color so gently rub it in
and wipe excess off with a soft cloth. Apply it at night and especially in itchy areas which may include the
creases behind the knees.
Both products are safe to use anywhere on the body even in the groin and buttock areas.
I would suggest trying the Hypo balm applied 4 times a day and the psorexederm applied nightly to itchy areas.
Bathing should be using a bath oil such as aveeno or alpha keri, for very dry areas the emulsifying ointment is a good substitute for soap and this is probably what you are doing.
After the bath, dry them and immediately apply the hypoallergenic balm to seal the moisture in the skin.
For severe itching areas the leminis fatty can be applied morning and afternoon UNDER the Hypo balm
with the Psorexederm as well applied at night.
Hopefully this will get the problem under control.
Allergy tests could be useful as it sounds that allergies could be a factor causing eczema all over the body.
In case allergy is happening a dose of Zyrtec syrup at bedtime daily may help relieve the itch in
your eldest boy. Zyrtec syrup can be obtained from your local pharmacy.
QUESTION - Daughter painfully suffering from (acute) eczema problem
I live in Singapore with my daughters, one of which is painfully suffering from eczema problem.
She is 3.5 years old. Her skin used to be ok (with mild eczema) but since a few months ago the eczema has gotten
increasingly serious. I am not sure what caused it, probably a combination of heat rash + increased variety of food.
The itchiness is making her increasingly difficult to sleep, do anything outdoors and even go to school.
I am looking desperately for anything that can make her more comfortable.
I once went to a skin allergy expert here in Singapore and she said my daughter's eczema is "acute" one,
meaning that when it develops, it is really really bad (all over the body, back, legs, shoulders...)
with big red patches and little red dots all over. But the next day these red patches could disappear completely
and she could be a normal active girl again. But if she is sleepy, not in the mood or for whatever reason,
these red patches appear and could make her really really itchy.
She also has a chronic problem of itchy scalp (since she was a baby).
Can you tell me what products is suitable for her? I think the following maybe suitable but can you tell me if she needs special formula becuz she is only 3.5 years old?
For the skin the 2 products you need are the
Psorexederm cream
and the
Hypo Allergenic face and body balm.
Apply the psorexederm when the skin is red and itchy, say morning and bedtime. On it's own it can be a
little drying so to prevent this apply the hypo allergenic face and body balm 2-3 times during the day
using enough to produce a shine on the skin. The shine shows the balm is forming a protective barrier.
When the shine disappears apply some more.
If she is swimming, apply the balm before and after swimming to protect her skin. Dress her lightly as
heat will aggravate the itching.
For the scalp you will need our children's strength psorexederm scalp lotion.
As this is not listed on the website, order the scalp lotion as listed and put in the comments section of the order "PLEASE SUPPLY CHILDREN'S STRENGTH SCALP LOTION AS DISCUSSED WITH DAVID"
There is no extra charge for the child formula.
You apply it for several hours before the bath and wash off at the bath time using mild to firm pressure to massage the scalp to loosen the scales and remove them. Your daughter should not feel you are rubbing too hard if the pressure is correct.
Used daily it should take 7-14 days to clear up the problem.
After that daily washing of the hair with any good shampoo should prevent recurrence although occasionally you may need to retreat her .
This should help solve the problem for you.
Kind Regards,
David Hosking
