Diagnosed nodular Eczema turned out to be weeping staph infection

Subject: Eczema turned to staph infection...help!
Last week I took my 14 month old son to the doctor and he was diagnosed
with nodular eczema. It does not look like your photos on your web site
for a infantile exzema, it was more in shapes that were clearly formed
with normal skin around. They were crusty, red and spreading. I was told
by the Doctor that by June it would be cleared up. When I got home, I
realized how foolish that was and went back to another doctor within the
week, and the eczema turned to a weeping staph infection.
My boy is on antibiotics now(his first time ever and I feel so bad) I have tried
everything for his condition before it got to this point. He had it last
winter here in New York when he was just a few months old. I realize the
heat and humidity as well as the sun will help, but here it is a long
winter before that can happen.
A friend of mine told me about your
lavender balm. I am also interested in the balm without the lavender, as
he is so sensitive. His cheeks also have the appearance of the baby on
your web site, probably the infantile eczema as you describe, as well as
under his chin. I think we have both types working on his body. What do
you suggest? I have been using mineral oil in the bath.
Do you recommend a soap that you have or we can get here in the States for the days we do
use soap? Please e-mail me with your recommendations, and I appreciate
your help.
As eczema causes the skin to be less resistant to infection it is common
for that to happen and sometimes you go to the doctor before the signs of
infection are really e.g the crusting.
The antibiotics will fix that and using the Hypoallergenic Balm for his
sensitive skin will prevent reinfection while protecting the eczema with
barrier effect enabling quick regrowth of healthy skin.
The safe antiseptic chlorhexidine (used in mouthwashes and as a surgical
wash) in the balm will protect against recurrence of infection.
Simply apply it 3-4 times a day enough to leave a shine on the areas you
have applied it. It is excellent as a lip balm too!
Cold dry heated air aggravates eczema but can't be avoided in winter.
A good bath oil like dermaveen , Johnson & Johnson etc is better than
straight mineral oil as it disperses better ( and is easier to clean
after the bath too)
not a huge difference but worth a try. If you want a "soap" then
dermaveen make "aveenobar" or something similar that is a soap free soap
they are all good
so just ask at a good drugstore locally.
Avoid the clear washes as they are soap free but very drying. Even
Cetaphil Wash is too drying for children. The Cetaphil bar is alright,
however the bath oils
are the best.
Once out of the bath and dry, immediately apply the balm to keep the
moisture in the skin.
Hope this helps,
Kind Regards, David Hosking 5/03/08

Dear David,
I just wrote you, and was looking on your website how I can write a
wonderful review and testimonial to thank you for your face and body balm.
I couldn't see how to do it. I only hope every parent can use your product
and get the fast results and cure we did.
Thank you again,

NOTE: We are very happy to accept testimonials via e-mail, or in whatever form you wish to provide them!
Introducing David's Hypoallergenic Face and Body Balm
We formulated the lavender -free balm (removed the lavender oil) for infants, babys and children
with hypersensitivities. The hypoallergenic balm should work precisely the
same as our Lavender Balm product, although, of course,
it does not come with the lovely smell and color of the Lavender oil.
The hypo allergenic product without lavender oil conforms to the guidelines of
Sue Dengate ( see;
http://www.fedupwithfoodadditives.info/)
who is prominent in helping children with food additive sensitivities. These
children also tend to have eczema and so the Hypoallergenic product without
lavender was born after requests from a number of customers. Directions for use
are exactly the same as for David's Soothing Lavender Face & Body Balm.
