Hi ,
Rosacea with pimples presents great problems when shaving with a blade razor.
Sometimes people use an electric razor but I have always found the 3 or 4 blade razors Gillette sell to give the best shave and personally I tend to think of electric razors as "stubble grinders" as my skin is never completely smooth unless I use a blade.
A product such as Cetaphil Wash which is available in most countries is very good for shaving.
Apply it to the area to be shaven and leave it on for at least 3-4 minutes so it will soften the hairs. Use a new blade changed frequently .
After shaving simply wash off the remaining Cetaphil.
This should give you a better shave without damaging your skin as much. Cetaphil is also very beneficial instead of soap for rosacea as well.
This method of shaving is great for all types of skin, even completely normal skin, as Cetaphil moisturises the skin so it won't feel tight and dry after shaving.
After shaving and rinsing apply the sulphur cream sparingly and it will soothe the skin.
This probably won't be 100% effective immediately but you should slowly get a good improvement over about 2-3 weeks. The antibiotics you are on also will help control the pimples.
You can be assured using all these treatments together will be fine. I have a general policy of trying one thing at a time so you can see the benefits of each treatment. However many people want the problem fixed as soon as possible which I totally understand !
So they use anything that can help to gain fast relief. That approach usually works. It is only if you don't get as good results as you had hoped that you need to single out each treatment to see what is helping and what isn't.
