Do you have any other suggestions? I would like to use the same kind of cream for myself and as I am still breastfeeding and thinking of future pregnancy etc I would like something that would be safe to use for this purpose as well as gentle enough for babies.
We have a product called Psorexederm Cream which can be applied to itchy areas that haven't responded to the lavender balm on it's own. The Psorexederm contains coal tar, vitamin A & D (and more zinc oxide than sudocream) to relieve the itch and heal the skin.We make a version without vitamin A but with Vitamin E for pregnant women as taking oral vitamin A during pregnancy is definitely not recommended so although skin absorption from creams is negligible the PREVIT cream has no vitamin A so would be a better choice for you during pregnancy. I would try a 100g jar which should be much more effective at relieving itch on the body.
A solution is to apply it sparingly during the day once or twice as needed and if troubled by itch at night apply it more thickly at night wearing old pyjamas.
...MOREThe Psorexederm Cream is excellent at relieving itch and is ideal for application at bedtime to prevent night time itching. It can be a little drying so use the Hypo Allergenic balm or Lavender Face and Body Balms during the day and the Psorexederm cream at night. Psorexederm should not be used around the eyes but can be applied to the face very lightly with the excess of the white cream just patted off with a soft cloth like an old towel. 10/05/2008

I've tried Sudocrem which has helped a little bit with the itch but he still scratches and is stressed out by it.We make a version without vitamin A but with Vitamin E for pregnant women as taking oral vitamin A during pregnancy is definitely not recommended so although skin absorption from creams is negligible the PREVIT cream has no vitamin A so would be a better choice for you during pregnancy. As an all-purpose cream for itch, soothing & softening the skin and helping eczema it would be ideal for your situation. Be aware it has a white zinc base so apply it sparingly so as not to stain dark clothes.A solution is to apply it sparingly during the day once or twice as needed and if troubled by itch at night apply it more thickly at night wearing old pyjamas.
Use a good bath oil for the baby and it will help your skin too. Massage during pregnancy with suitable massage oils is good to relax and reduce stretch mark formation as well. If swimming in pools or salt water , use the hypo or lavender face and body balm (same product only one has no lavender for people allergic to essential oils). Apply it before entering the water then apply your sunscreen over the top if needed.
This should do the job.If you are using cortisone, continue using it under our products and as the problems clear after about a week half the amount of cortisone used then after another week stop the cortisone. If you suddenly stop the cortisone you often get a flare-up in 2-3 days.
Hope this helps, Kind Regards, David Hosking 17\12\07I have a 1 year old with reasonably bad eczma behind his knees, on the front of his knees, front of his ankles, on his arms and sometimes on his neck and face (not so bad now). I have tried Elidel - which is a non-steriod prescription cream and it is not working. He is taking Inner Health probiotocs in powder form daily and he is also on a formula that contains probiotocs. This seems to help a little but not completely.
When it gets really bad I use the steriod cream prescribed by my doctor but I don't like doing this too often, or ever if there is another solution.
My chiropractor, Dr Xxxxxxxx Xxxxxxx, suggested I get in contact with you in order to get some advice as to which of your creams could help my son the best. I am prepared to try anything as you can probably tell but I have only heard fantastic reports about your products.
I look forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience.
Kind Regards,We do get very good results with our products and give them a money back guarantee. Of course, no product works 100% of the time for everyone but the problems you describe respond very well to our products.
I will go thru some suggestions that should help a lot. Firstly use a bath oil and avoid anything that foams. You probably are doing this already, any bath oil is suitable.
Foods and probiotics usually do not make much difference to the eczema. One third of children between birth and age 5 years develop eczema and I am of the personal opinion that the body is developing it's immune response during this time and eczema can be an outward sign of this. After 5years most children grow out of it.
Mums usually have dry hands washing up after the children so before bed rub some into your hands, it's a bit greasy but you will be amazed how it will help you as well.
Lavender Balm is not effective for the itchy areas as it is a healing protective cream with no anti-itch ingredients to be used before the skin breaks down too much.
For the ITCHY AREAS use our Psorexederm Cream. This is zinc based to speed healing and contains vitamin A & D to also increase healing. Coal tar is also included to reduce the itch and it soothes the moment you apply it. Use whenever itchy and a minimum of 2-3 times daily for itchy, red broken or unbroken skin. When you gently rub it on it will look white and thick like sunscreen. To avoid mess rub the cream in lightly for about 30 seconds then get a soft cloth such as an old towel and pat the excess off. This will take 3 or 4 pats each using a clean side of the cloth until the end result is the skin looks shiny but has no excess white cream on it.
This is only necessary to avoid mess as what has penetrated the skin is enough to do the job. This product will stain clothing if this procedure is not followed and excess is left on the skin. Excess on the skin is only beneficial, the wiping off procedure is purely cosmetic so the cream doesn't go everywhere
Chlorine in pools will aggravate eczema so if swimming apply Lavender Face and Body Balm all over the affected areas prior to bathing to avoid any problems. When using sunscreen, apply our product first then the sunscreen over the top.
Using these 2 products you should get excellent improvement in 2 weeks, if the child has an illness such as a cold you will notice the skin will get worse about 7 days after so it may come and go, overall you should be very happy with the results.
