Hi MK,
Ketoconazole is an anti-fungal antibiotic which works when the scalp problem
is caused by fungal organisms on the scalp. Consequently, if the problem is
not caused by fungal organisms Ketoconazole shampoo will work poorly.
Our product is much better as it has a keratolytic to break up and remove
the scales and at the same time it has an anti-fungal effect.
The coal tar in the formula reduces itching and growth of new scale.
As the product is oil based it will not dry the hair or change it's colour.
It is used every night and left on the scalp. (Use an old pillow slip)
Wash it out in the morning and do this every day for up to 2 weeks. Usually
results will be seen much sooner.
Once the problem has cleared up use a commercial tar based shampoo at least
2-3 times a week to prevent recurrance. In Australia Ego is a readily
available brand, but any commercial product with about 1% tar in it would be
suitable.
If you have trouble finding one locally let me know your location and I will
track one down for you. Alternately I could arrange to supply you with the
ego product but it may be cheaper for you to use a local product .
As always, our product has a 100% money back guarantee including postage so
I am certain you will be delighted with the results!
Kind Regards,
David Hosking.
