Hi,

I've taken a while to answer as your case is complex and I wanted to think of the simplest way to produce the best result since you already have a complex skin treatment program.

Since your daughter is 4 years old from what you say her skin problem has only developed in the last 8 months. Is this correct or has she had it longer?

It is possible she may have food sensitivities which don't show up as allergies. This is uncommon and only effects 3% of children. However you might want to look at this site for a list of things to avoid in the diet. Try it for a month and you may possibly see an improvement : http://www.fedupwithfoodadditives.info/ I know of many people this has helped.

I would suggest using our Hypoallergenic Face and Body Balm instead of the cetomacrogol cream as a moisturiser. It is more oily and should immediately help with the flaking dry skin.

For her scalp, Apply the balm during the day and wash off at night with the cetrimide shampoo for 1 week, cetrimde can irritate skin sometimes so if no improvement substitute a shampoo like Johnson's baby shampoo and apply a quantity to the dry scalp massaging in to dissolve the oily balm then washing off with water, do this for 1 week and if an improvement is seen continue this. Shampooing should be done every night .

Do not suddenly stop using the cortisone creams as this will trigger a flare up about 3 days after you stop them. As her skin improves reduce them slowly over several weeks.

Apply the cortisone products first then the balm over the top. Use the balm immediately after the bath, in the morning and at bedtime. You can use it more frequently if you feel she needs it. The correct amount to apply is enough to leave a slight shine on the surface of the skin. Improvement should be seen within 2 weeks if all goes well.

I hope this helps, Please let me know how you get on with her eczema.

Kind Regards,
David Hosking.

i live in new zealand and my four year old daughter suffers from severe eczema this has been going on for the past eight months..she did two skin tests to find out if she was allergic to any food and she slightly reacted to dust mites which the doctor said was insignificant..we have been to 2 dermatologists to no change at these cortisone cream.

i am from [the African continent] and that is where she was born.today she started on redipred with augumentin and was told of wet wraps she uses locoid crelo for her scalp ---she bathes with aqeous cream cause the pinertasol did not help..she now uses cetomacrogol cream base as a mosturiser because the lemnis fatty acid and emulsifying ointment did not help at all.for her scalp she uses cetrimide 10% solution for shampoo.

in my counrty eczema is not a common disease and i find it difficult to deal with it...can my daughetr do any further blood tests to see if she is allergic to anything because i have got a strong feeling she is reacting to some of the creams that i use on her and i just hope it is a good time to try you product

---do your have anything for the scalp as she losing hair.her whole body flakes and is so itchy nighttime is bad for us...please help sorry for the long letter am so desperate

Introducing David's Hypoallergenic Face and Body Balm

We formulated the lavender -free balm (removed the lavender oil) for infants, babys and children with hypersensitivities. The hypoallergenic balm should work precisely the same as our Lavender Balm product, although, of course, it does not come with the lovely smell and color of the Lavender oil.

The hypo allergenic product without lavender oil conforms to the guidelines of Sue Dengate ( see; http://www.fedupwithfoodadditives.info/) who is prominent in helping children with food additive sensitivities. These children also tend to have eczema and so the Hypoallergenic product without lavender was born after requests from a number of customers. Directions for use are exactly the same as for David's Soothing Lavender Face & Body Balm.
