Molluscum has pimple like spots with pearly looking centers, the ones on the website below are a lot bigger than you would usually see. They are normally small pimples with a pearly spot in the middle.
They tend to not occur on the face so I do suspect molluscum from your photos.Molluscum takes up to 1 year to clear up so While it is clearing the spots can disappear in one area and move to another. Towards the end when it is clearing up the immune system may produce a mild eczema between the spots. There is a prescription product, imiquimod cream, that will shorten the duration of the rash from 1 year to about 12 weeks in 33% of children.
Roseola lasts about 1-2 weeks then clears up so time will tell if is molluscum. For reasons below I feel it is not Giannoti Crosti
There still a few more viral skin problems but you treat them in the same way. Protect the skin by using our balm 2-3 times a day. Avoid foaming skin washes and use a bath oil instead. Avoid cortisones as they will worsen the rash as they reduce the body's reaction to the virus. Some reliable references for you:- A website with good pics and reliable info on these conditions is here:Giannoti Crosti occurs in the following manner Quote from reference above " "Over the course of 3 or 4 days a profuse eruption of dull red spots develops first on the thighs and buttocks, then on the outer aspects of the arms, and finally on the face. The rash is often asymmetrical. The individual spots are 5-10 mm in diameter and are a deep red color. Later they often look purple, especially on the legs, due to leakage of blood from the capillaries. They may develop fluid-filled blisters"
My son just turned one, for the last three weeks he has had a mystery rash and what started on the back of his right thigh spread rapidly to every part of his body. There has been no sign of clearing, just more bumps on bumps. We live in Laguna Beach California, we went to Las Vegas for two weeks for my husbands work. We swam in the pools and hot tubs. I noticed the heavy chlorine smell and that it was making all of our skin a little dry. The baby had a couple of small dry patches that I noticed and put lotion on. We returned home and I tried a new organic shea butter soap for babies with dry skin and the next morning woke to this rash behind his thigh.
The pediatrician said it looked like molluscums. The dermatologist said it was Not molluscums but he had no idea what it was. He have me a cream that seems to be making it worse. A couple of weeks before the Vegas trip, baby was diagnosed with possible Roseola by another pediatrician and that rash cleared in a few days. I am still breastfeeding him.
I just nursed him and I was rubbing his little body and it is absolutely filled with bumps, every inch of him. He doesn't seem to be itching or bothered. He wakes up constantly at night about every 90 minutes but he has always done that. The only time he seemed to be itchy was after I tried to put 5% Lugol's iodine on 4 different patches and the iodine dried his skin out terribly, almost like a chemical burn. It looked like the bumps were cleared a bit in those areas but it became inflamed and seemed to bug him a bit. Now that that skin is healing, more bumps are filling the space and I'm back to square one.Any thoughts you may have are appreciated. I ordered a cream of yours a few days ago that should arrive soon... is there another that you would recommend after looking at these bumps?
We formulated the lavender -free balm (removed the lavender oil) for infants, babys and adults with hypersensitivities. The Hypoallergenic Balm should work precisely the same as our Lavender Balm product, although, of course, it does not come with the lovely smell and color of the Lavender oil.
The hypo allergenic product without lavender oil conforms to the guidelines of Sue Dengate ( see; http://www.fedupwithfoodadditives.info/) who is prominent in helping children with food additive sensitivities. These children also tend to have eczema and so the Hypoallergenic product without lavender was born after requests from a number of customers. Directions for use are exactly the same as for David's Soothing Lavender Face & Body Balm.
