Subject: SCALP PROBLEM
David I have ordered your scalp product this morning.

I have tried every every possible product on the market referred by doctor/s, dermatologist/s, naturopath and self help remedies $$$$, NOTHING HELPS.

Developed itchy scalp after having hair colored by a natural product more than 5 years ago (I think this was the cause because the itch started the day after) I have never suffered from dandruff or any other scalp problems prior to this.

I now survive on Elecon lotion.

Small 'very itchy' sore bumps come up on the back of the scalp and then spread up and around scalp, the back of the scalp is the worst. I just keep intense scratching till it bleeds.

Do you think your product will help and should I use Elecon at the same time or stop elecon all together?

please advise

Hi ,

I think you will get good results with our Psoexederm scalp lotion applied at night and washed out in the morning. Apply it sparingly in broken skin areas. Continue the elocon, applying it after you have dried your hair. This will be a bit of extra work but will prevent the flare-up that often occurs if cortisone is discontinued suddenly after it has been used for a while.

Once the scalp is back to normal, discontinue the elocon slowly by halfing the number of times you apply it each week. E.g. Daily usage week one, alternate day usage week two, 3 times a week on week 3, twice a week on week four, once a week on week 5 then stop.

Use a tar based shampoo to prevent recurrence at least 3 times a week. If a the problem returns, restart the Psorexederm scalp lotion but not the Elocon.

Improvement should be visible within 14 days however it will take longer to completely resolve the problem as it is long standing. In the unlikely event of the problem worsening, stop the treatment.

Kind Regards,
David Hosking.

QUESTION:

My Optional Survey comments: Browsing online. I really hope the scalp lotion stops my flaky and dry scalp. I've had dermatitis for the past 2 years, and I only discovered what it was 8 months ago. I've been using sigmacort on my skin when i get itchy and elocon lotion on my scalp. The lotion worke dfor a while but my scalp is back to being flaky and itchy. I would like to try your product as it seaes to have worked for other peope. If I follow the intruction would I be able to have an itch free scalp again? Is it a permanent cure? - London, UK - Sat, October 27, 2007
Hi,

Quite a lot of people have the same problem as you. The Elocon lotion clears the problem but it returns later. You can prevent this with a weekly hair care program.

The solution that seems to work for most people is to use the Psorexederm scalp lotion to fix the problem then continue with the following hair care procedure designed to prevent recurrence.

If you wash your hair less than 3-4 times a week the problem will come back. You wash your body every day, Your hair needs to be washed at the least 3 times a week and ideally 4 to 7 times a week. This is hard for people with long hair and perms as it involves a lot of washing, drying , styling etc but it is the only way.

Assuming you can wash your hair 4 times a week you can almost be certain to avoid the problem recurring and be free if itch. Use a shampoo such as Neutrogena T gel, Selsun blue or Head and shoulders, these all are very good at preventing scale formation. Use a conditioner of your choice, you don't have to use the conditioner matching the shampoo, in fact you usually get better results with whatever conditioner you find works best for you. That's all there is to it.

I know ladies who find it difficult to wash their long hair this often and unfortunately this allows the scale time to form. (It is natural build up of dead scalp skin cells which can allow fungi to infect the area leading to itch.) If you are lucky enough to have short hair and can wash it daily then you are very unlikely to have the problem return.

I have seen this work so many times for people and you won't need the cortisone.

The only other thing is consider the possibility of allergy to hair dye, if the dermatitis is even all over the hair covered scalp but stops right at the hairline then you may have an allergy to a hair product. This is uncommon but possible. If you need to ask me more please email me.

Kind Regards, David Hosking.
